A Research and Critical Study into Allama Tamanna Emadi's Method of Quranic Evidence for the Five Daily Prayers. نماز پنجگانہ کےقرآنی ثبوت میں علامہ تمنا عمادی کےطرزِاستدلال کا تحقیقی وتنقیدی مطالعہ
Abstract
This research article will focus on the evidence from the Quran regarding the five daily prayers, considering the perspective and methodology of Allama Tamanna Emadi. The attempt will be made to first present Allama Tamanna Emadi's stance and then discuss the views of the majority of scholars. Since there is unanimous agreement within the Muslim community that the five daily prayers are obligatory and that there is consensus among all schools of thought regarding the fundamental form, posture, and quality of prayers, it is essential to highlight any minor differences in subsidiary matters.
However, in the 19th century, a group called "Ahl al-Qur’an" emerged, which, apart from the name, was not recognized as rightful adherents of the Qur’an. Some individuals within this group, instead of accepting the obligation of five prayers, adopted the position of only two obligatory prayers arguing that since the Qur’an provides evidence for only two prayers, asserting the obligation of five prayers contradicts the Qur’an.The organization Al-Balagh published a book titled "الصلاۃ" supporting this view.
In response to this, Allama Tamanna Emadi wrote a short book titled "پنجگانہ نماز کا قرآنی ثبوت" in which he thoroughly examined all Quranic verses related to prayers. He discussed the number of prayers, prayer times, etc. from the beginning of prophethood to the established obligation of five prayers. His aim was to present conclusive evidence from the Quran for the obligation of five prayers so that those who advocated only two prayers based on the Quranic command could be refuted. It's worth noting that he did not rely on the consensus of the Muslim community or the narrations of Hadith but aimed to establish his position solely through Quranic verses.
This research Paper is divided into two main sections. The first section will elaborate on Allama Tamanna Emadi's position, and the second section will focus on the stance of the majority of scholars.
